The focus of the IRT series has five categories: (1) robotic devices (MEMS, bio-machine interface technology), (2) IRT control systems, (3) IRT environment (daily life support technology, environmental technology), (4) cyber interfaces (computing, information networks, interface technology for five or six senses), and (5) robotic systems (advanced software: integration of recognition, learning and movement; understanding humans by observing and guessing intention).
Furthermore, IRT industries will be encouraged by the highly fused R&D of these seeds technologies from The University of Tokyo; mechanism, mobility and safety technology from Toyota; sensor and MEMS technology from Olympus; interactive software technology from Sega; media device and content technology from Toppan; image processing, computing and network technology from Fujitsu; digital appliance technology from Matsushita; system construction technology from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
